    Mount Tamalpais School Science Teacher Toni Brand, Ph.D.

  • Toni Brand, Ph.D., is a science teacher at Mount Tamalpais School in Mill Valley, California. In this position, she teaches and advises seventh and eighth-grade science students in areas of physics, chemistry, and biology. In addition to teaching science, she is part of a small advisory group that supports seventh-grade students in areas of social and emotional skill development. Furthermore, Toni Brand, Ph.D., has taught in various roles over the course of more than a decade, including experience in both laboratory and classroom settings. She has also mentored students at the high school, college, and postgraduate levels, with a focus on the development of lab research skills and design.

     

    Toni Brand, Ph.D., received her cellular and molecular pathology degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. She subsequently completed a head and neck surgery post-doctoral fellowship with the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Francisco.

     

    Her interests outside of science education include hiking with her dog, a rescue pitbull named Otis, and volunteering at Muttville in San Francisco, where she walks senior dogs on the weekends.
